Naka was lying on the floor, arms over her head as she looked out the window. She was staring as the clouds passed by, taking on different shapes. The subject of which she was thinking kept changing; first ice cream, then she saw a butterfly-shaped clound and automatically thought of bright blue wings. Goru, her baby brother, walked in, the expression on his face as unemotional as usual. "Nee-chan, are you day-dreaming again?" he asked, sitting down next to her head. "Yes..." Naka sighed, closing her eyes. "Dinner's on fire." Naka's eyes flew open and she ran straight to the kitchen. The stew she was making had turned green and was giving off a blackish smoke. "Ugh..." She gingerly took the pot by the handles, scrunching up her nose from the smell. The sloppy, somewhat chunky, stew went straight to the trash outside.

"Okay! That's taken care of!"
"...Nee-chan, what'll we have for dinner?"
"..." So much for daydreaming...

A tentative knock on the door could reach around the apartment quietly. A female stood outside, dark brown hair and wearing a type of kimono outfit rubbed her head, holding a small pouch. She was thin and had soft hazel eyes. She waited contently for a response, glancing down the hall absently.

Naka heard a knock and walked over to the door. When she opened it, she saw another female. "Um...Hello!" Naka said, smiling. "...hello..." Goru was behind Naka, hiding behind her legs.

Phoenix looked back when she heard footsteps. She passed a small half smile and softly bowed her head, holding out the pouch. "Just....new, saying welcome..." She seemed to say quietly. "The pouch has some medical herbs....heard you were studying medicine..." The female said again, rubbing the back of her head. She smiled faintly to Goru, ignoring the smell of burnt food.

Goru eyed the newcomer suspiciously. She wasn't a guy, but still... "Wow, thanks! Come on in!" Naka opened the door wide, inviting the stranger in.

Phoenix seemed to blink a bit and hesitated before stepping in softly. It was usual that rare people ever trusted her soon. She had very pale skin and her eyes were a mix of green and gold. She was a very high level ninja though. Her headband was hidden in her pack as she held her hands at her sides.

Goru was still suspicious. His sister was too trusting, so he had to be careful for her. Naka didn't realize it, but he'd become a greater ninja than his sister when he grows up. "Have a seat!" Naka said, and skipped into the kitchen to find something edible.

Phoenix watched her go and rubbed her head. She absently mumbled a hi to Goru, a shy, tentative outlook before she simply stood by the wall. She only sat on the floor, after a bit, her legs folded as she thought.

Naka came in again, with a tray of tea and cake in her hands. "This is all I could find," she admitted, setting down the tray on the coffee table. "I'm Nakashima Kuroda! What's your name?"

Phoenix looked up softly as she came in and gave her a half smile again. She mumbled that it was fine then tilted her head. "I'm Phoenix..." She answered softly and sat up a bit straighter, rubbing her arm. "How do you like it here?" She asked quietly after a bit.

"Here? Well...um..." Naka was kind of puzzled herself. She had spent most of her time dreaming, so she didn't really know if she was enjoying it or not. "I'm not sure yet...But I guess I'm going to love it here."

Phoenix smiled faintly at her answer and nodded, shifting a bit and keeping her hands on her lap. She could relate easily to daydreaming. "I hope you do....I just live slightly far away..." She said quietly, mumbling and faintly pulling her sand village headband out.

"Ah! You're from Suna! I see. So how do YOU like it here?" Naka asked, as she reached for a piece of cake. Goru was sitting next to her, an almost Shikamaru-ish look on his face.

Phoenix smiled faintly and rubbed her head. "I enjoy it...I technically live with the Kazekage...and I lead most of the medical dealings" She answered softly. She seemed to glance out the window in thought, brushing some hair from her face as she held the headband. "Here to help Konoha with the infirmary" she added quietly after a bit.

"Hm....being a medic-nin is kind of hard work. Don't you miss Suna?" Naka wiped the chocolate off her fingers, examining the patterns they left on the napkin. She turned her attention back to Phoenix; it was rude to ignore guests.
