"My hip? Hm...There's goosebumps and..it's cold." Naka touched her hip lightly, feeling the bumps under the material. She stood straight, her chakra concentrating on her feet. Sweat broke out on her brow and she started shaking as she tried to control her chakra. The 'hallucination' chuckled and something touched her chest.

Phoenix frowned but nodded and watched. Her arms crossed as she did before her hand twitched. "Keep focusing...going to try something..." She said, technically warning her before walking behind her, making sure she could see her hands before she put them to her shoulders. Warm chakra escaped around Naka and she seemed to rub her shoulders in a way to help concentrate as she kept the time in her head.

Naka felt chakra around her and sighed. She fed little chakra to her feet, but seemed to hold herself up, nonetheless. The hallucination growled as it realized someone else was touching Naka. Black chakra eminated from Naka's feet, surrounding her like a dark flame. Naka gulped but didn't look down. With both chakra's help, she was able to stay on the water. She started to breathe easily again and stopped sweating.

Phoenix however did glance down, she sniffed, seeming to ignore it and continued to rub Naka's shoulders softly. Her actions consisted of how a mother or another softer master might act, and she wasn't going to change it unless the girl she was helping wanted her to. Her eyes stayed a dazzling emerald and gold while her thin frame shifted and her eyes closed, hinting a smile at the counted time in her head.

The black chakra bobbed around Naka's feet, but then it sank into the water. "Hah?!" Naka was being pulled down by the black chakra, but only a little, as if it was just tugging her playfully.

Phoenix tilted her head curiously at the black chakra. A brief smile twitched her lips and she sighed, keeping her hands on Naka's shoulders. Her head stayed tilted and she glanced around before back to Naka and the chakra.

Naka kicked out one of her legs, spraying the dark chakra. But it accumulated itself and spread, going up her legs. It felt hot, and somehow wet. It went up until Naka was up to her chest in black chakra. The hallucination chuckled again as it watched Naka hopelessly try to scrape the chakra off.

Phoenix watched and sighed, but vaguely smiled. She just knew now that she was staying stood on the water without really thinking about it. She would still catch her arm if she fell. In her own playful notion, however rare, she brushed Naka's shoulder again, giving her a mental hint. Just hinting her to build her chakra around her stomach then release it. If worked, could send the black chakra off for a couple minutes.

Naka tried this, but couldn't help shivering when the chakra slid over her. It felt slimy, but left no trace on her. She blasted off the black chakra and kicked it off her feet. The chakra didn't touch her yet, but circled the two girls.

Phoenix looked at it curiously for awhile, an arm around Naka a bit. After a second, Phoenix suddenly froze, her eyes turning a deep silver, her pupils vanished, and she collapsed on top of the water, arm sliding away from Naka. Her chakra vanished and she sunk, form slipping elegantly under the surface as small pockets of bubbles slipped from her mouth. Usually, a demon like her would be fine, but something was wrong.

"Phoenix-san!" Naka dropped into the water before she realized something important. She didn't know how to swim. 'But...! Phoenix...!' 'Shut up, hon. Don't worry, it'll be okay.' The voice calmed her down, and she floated her to the surface. The black chakra sunk into the water, heading towards Phoenix. It went under her, trying to stop her from sinking any deeper, and tried to lift her, instead. It was still slimy and wet to the touch, but solid like a soft mattress.

Phoenix's body lay limp except for pockets of blood edging out of her kimono from her back, turning the material a thick red, diluting in the water. A flinch twitched her body at the black chakra, but she was lifted rather easily. What was simply wrong, her consciousness locked within her mind as one of the still vaguely explained winged demons beat at her mind, opening a hidden scar on her back.

The black chakra pushed her out of the water, onto the boulder. Naka pulled Phoenix onto the smooth rock, scared speechless. She touched Phoenix's back and flinched as she smelled something familiar. Blood. The black chakra covered Phoenix's back. But without its owner, it could not perform any medical jutsu by itself. "Phoenix-san? Phoenix-san!"

A small pained groan slipped past her lips at any simple touch and the brunettes head rolled to the side. The gold strands glinted in the sunlight and mix of water. She choked a bit, letting the liquid out when she tried to answer. Much more failing then succeeding in truth, all she managed was to breath again by herself, chest rising and falling rapidly as her jutsu started to vanish. This caused her skin to turn much paler, and an uncountable number of scars began to appear up her legs, back, stomach, the only place it didn't, was her face, which she had healed all the time. But truly the only place.

Naka gasped as Phoenix changed her form. "Wh-wha?" 'Naka, don't touch her. Not yet.' She obeyed the Voice's commands, and sat kneeling next to the scarred kunoichi. Her whole body was covered in scars of all types, save her pale face. Naka fidgeted with her fingers nervously as she watched the scars appear. Her own, on her right arm, were painful to receive, and that was willingly. She couldn't imagine what could have put Phoenix through so much pain and agony to etch those marks. Naka calmed herself down. 'Phoenix-san is strong, this is just a test of strength, just a test...'
